Abstract

The article is devoted to the assessment of the role of religiosity in interethnic relations in the Orthodox-Islamic borderland; religiosity is seen as faith, identity and behavior. Based on the 2017 survey in Bashkortostan, it is established that religiosity positively influences interethnic relations and promotes interethnic tolerance. Experiencing a close relationship with coreligionists is an element that forms a culture of trust. It is concluded that the socio-communicative nature of modern religiosity allows it to be an active resource of interethnic accord.
