Abstract

Based on the applied sociological research conducted in the large industrial city of Perm Prikamye, the opinion of students and working youth about the causes of the collapse of the USSR, about how, in their opinion, Soviet people lived and from what sources they learn about it is revealed. The opinions of the representatives of the younger generation about the possibilities of the revival of the Soviet Union, about leaders of the Russian state and the level of patriotism in the youth environment are offered. There are also assertions about the increasing role of socio-political and human sciences, the need for more intensive academic study of the above issues before making relevant political decisions and for solving the problems of the territory and specific social communities in question.
