Results of a study of denotative meanings of achromatic colors with colored shades and of basic colors with grey shades as well as of intermediate and thaditional colors with modificators are presented. To obtain these results the system of natural colors (NCS) was used for the first time. The data obtained are essential ot construct a system of verbal and coded color nomination.
