Abstract

A determining role of subjective personal perception in the process of evolving of traumatic and post-traumatic stress in participants of emergency desactivation at Chernobyl nuclear power station is considered. The distinctive features of the so-called radiation post-traumatic stress are discussed, primary and secondary stress factors are outlined. A special technique elaborated by the authors (VRO questionnaire) and aimed at the analysis of subjective perceptions and evaluations of radiation danger by the crash crew members as well as the data of sample study are described. A comparative data analysis in the two groups of crash crew members was conducted: for those who had post-traumatic disorders and for those who hadn’t. The results of factor analysis of the questionnaire are discussed
