- Abstract
- The Centre for Southern African Studies of the Institute for African Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences held a roundtable "25-th anniversary of Russia - South Africa diplomatic relations". The participants of the roundtable included eminent Russian-African studies scholars, diplomats from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives from the South African Embassy in Moscow, other African diplomatic missions, members of NGO. Among items discussed were the history of Russian ties with South Africa, the role of USSR in supporting the anti-apartheid struggle, the achievements, problems and prospects of modern Russian - South African bilateral relations and cooperation within international organizations.
