Abstract
In May 2014 presidential elections took place in Egypt. The military took control over political process. The former Defense Minister Abdel Fattah al-Sisi was elected the new President of the country. The authors believe that the fall of the M.Mursi’s regime was logical and explain why. It is pointed out that, due to the fact that the United States have bet on «The Brothers», Americans found themselves in embarrassing situations, weakened their position in Egypt. In such circumstances for the Egyptian generals it was convenient to find Russia as an acceptable partner. Now in Egypt, there is an increasing influence of the military power which has resulted from the “revolution of 30 June”. In fact it’s absolutely the same forces came to power which were at the helm until the revolution.
