Abstract
Sub-Saharan African countries are well endowed with a wide range of renewable energy resources including hydro, solar, wind and geothermal energy which are now used at a very low level. The expansion of this sphere of African economy can provide its sustainable development and contribute greatly to the energy security goals by increasing access to modern energy for the majority of population.
