Abstract
First of all, it is the collection of customs duties and taxes. In the 20112012 fiscal years, customs has brought the budget of Japan 11,4% of all tax revenues. The second function of the Japanese customs is to ensure economic security of the society. Control over the passage of goods across the border helps to prevent unwanted infiltration into the country, including smuggling of dangerous and illegal substances and goods, such as drugs, weapons, etc. Finally, the activities of Customs facilitate trade.
