Abstract
The article describes the information campaign launched by the leading international mass media before the military intervention by NATO in Libya in 2011. The article discusses the connection between the major ideological points conveyed by the media, and the decisions made on Libya by the UN Security Council, i.e., Resolutions 1970 and 1973. There is a general description of the evolution of the US- perceived “external threat”, supposedly coming from the MENA region: from “terrorism” to “dictatorship”.
