Abstract

The relationship between the United States and Canada is the closest and most extensive in the world. What happens in the U.S. always matters to Canadians. That’s why Canadians have followed the November 2012 U.S. election so attentively. The article reviews the current state of Canada-U.S. relationship, analyzes major trade, investment, and energy irritants, and speculates about future development. The main conclusion is that under the second Obama Administration the relationship has all chances to proceed without serious deviations and breakdowns.
