The article is an attempt to describe the starting conditions for the still emerging geopolitics of the Biden administration in the Latin American direction. While Washington is busy solving global problems related to climate change, pandemic, etc., world politics continues its development non-stop, capturing and speculating on all other pressing issues. The author proposes to add the features of the foreign policy of the “ideological forerunner” of J. Biden B. Obama with the changes in the global agenda that took place during the reign of D. Trump. Apparently, the sum of Obama's theory and Trump's practice should provide the most complete picture of the future approaches of the new leadership. But a hundred days after the inauguration of the 46th President of the United States, there is no generalized Latin American doctrine of Washington, so there is still room for maneuver in the event of unexpected perturbations on the political map of the world. Today, the main feature of J. Biden's Latin American policy is the continuing unpredictability of further actions.
