Abstract

The article analyzes such a new phenomenon of international relations as the emergence of a new player in the Latin American geopolitical field - Iran. Special attention is paid to the internal and external factors that led to a significant increase in the presence of the Shiite power in the region, the priorities and scale of cooperation between Tehran and a number of Latin American states, and the reaction of the United States to it.
