Abstract
The acute shortage of domestic resources and rapidly growing demand for energy led to increasing dependence of China on energy import from abroad. Since the transportation by sea is not reliable enough, diversity of energy supply channels is imperative, and pipeline transport of the Caspian region has become the first priority. To develop relations of friendship and cooperation between China, Russia and Central Asian countries is particularly important for regional stability and security.
