Abstract
The current situation in Russia after radical socio-political transformations is characterized by a weakening of the historical and cultural continuity, distortion of the facts of Russian history, underestimation of the achievements of the Soviet state and society, belittling the role of the people and the red army in the defeat of the German fascist troops during world war II. Critical opinion of the great Patriotic war veterans with the opportunity to compare the past and the present, to assess the reliability of presenting the events of the great Patriotic war history, the origins and results of the victory, the role of the personalities of the peoples of Russia, other States.
