Abstract
The article is based on research materials, the main purpose of which is to study the scale and main factors of the spread of the religious trend of Wahhabism in the North Caucasus. The main reason for the spread of Wahhabism in the backdrop of the intensification factor of the “spiral of silence”, revealed the attitude of the population of the North Caucasian republics to ban this religious movements in the Russian Federation, described the impact of religious movements on the social behavior of people.
