Abstract
Based on the analysis of statistical data, the article describes trends in the main demographic processes (birth rate, marriage, divorce, mortality and migration) and structures (settlement, gender, age, marriage) of the population of one of the typical regions of Central Russia – the Kursk region. Based on the results of sociological surveys of the population, the key factors of low birth rate and marriage are identified, and the structure of family life in the region is characterized.
