- Abstract
The review presents an analysis of the results of studies of ideology as a socio-political regulator of modern societies. The authors view the modern world-economies as unfinished modernity; therefore, it is not necessary to move to a post-modern society, but to global radicalization of modernity. Since ideologies are immanent for modernity, it is too early to talk about the «end of ideologies», on the contrary, ideologies will play a more significant role than before. Ideologies today primarily fulfill the function of justifying and legitimizing moral values. The ideology of today is no longer a political project, but a value regulator. When in the future there will be a transition from the world-economies (oriented to homo economicus) to the world-politics (based on the idealistic policy of universal values, confidence, deliberative democracy), there will also be a change of neoliberal meta-ideology to another, most likely, communitarian meta-ideology.
