Abstract

The main attention is paid to the problem of so-called "secret" revolutions. The situation in geography in the 19th century is taken as an example. Than not only the necessity of studing the influence of nature upon man (geographic determinism) but also the opposite influence was methodologically determined. But in full this problem was realised only in the second half of this century.
