Abstract
Russia and Egypt are linked by complex historical political, economic relations and diverse humanitarian ties. The most important event in the development of Russian- Egyptian relations was the visit of the President V.V.Putin held early in February this year. It marked a new stage in relations between the two countries, ambitious phase of hope on the part of Cairo and optimistic estimates from Moscow. Both the Egyptian and Russian experts agree: Putin’s visit to Egypt fully meets the aspirations of both countries and aims to strengthen cooperation. However, they emphasize that this process will take time, labor and capital, as well as readiness to resist external political pressure.
