Abstract
In this article attention is paid to the military preparations of the radicals of the Gaza strip in the aftermath of large-scale hostilities of summer 2014. The Emphasis is made on underground infrastructure and the missiles of the Palestinians. The presence of cross-border tunnels between Gaza and Israel carries a significant potential for escalation of the protracted conflict. The existence of cross-border tunnels between the Palestinian enclave and Egypt also poses an immediate threat to Israel’s security. The authors believe that one of the priority directions in preparation for a new round of conflict with Gaza militants for Israel was the development of the capacity to cope with underground infrastructure. It is noted that control over the Gaza strip is significant for HAMAS. The rule of this organization in Gaza is one of the constants of the conflict between Palestinians and Israelis.
