- The Russian Assosiation of anthropologists and ethnologists held its XII Congress. 20 russian africanists took the part at it. Their abstracts were dedicated to various aspects of African studies - from sources till the political anthropology. The main theme of this Congress was the studying of the place and the importance of traditions in the modern world.
