Abstract
In December 2012 presidential and parliamentary elections  were held in Ghana. Contrary to the predictions of European and  American  experts,  they  were held  peacefully without any excesses. Thus,  these  elections  proved  that  the first president of independent Ghana,  Kwame Nkrumah  was right when he stated that «the black man is able to manage his own affairs».
