- Abstract
- Poverty and hunger are the ugly face of globalization, which were always accompanying the mankind. The entire second half of the twentieth century has witnessed many attempts to defeat famine, to put an end to a situation in which hundreds of millions of people are not able to secure a dignified existence. However, these targets have not been achieved. The author analyzes the reasons why poverty is still widespread, not only in developing countries, many of which are the poorest, but also in countries held, even the richest ones, where it seemingly should not to be.
