- Abstract
- According to the latest UN forecast published in 2012, in the second half of this century the population of relatively small East African countries such as Kenya and Uganda will exceed the population of Russia. Tanzania will reach Russia as early as 2050, and by the end of this century its population will exceed twice that of Russia. The population of Nigeria will surpass the number of Russians nearly 5 times. That is why these countries face the task to optimize fertility as soon as possible.
