Abstract
The article gives a brief analysis of new moments appeared in North Korea after Kim Jong Un’s rise to power. Young Kim quickly managed to establish his position as the most powerful and influential actor on the DPRK political scene. His position now looks stable and unchallenged. He initiated some changes in the political, economic and social fields of life in NK. These new steps caused debates between experts. The views vary from the belief that DPRK has already started profound reforms to the denial of this possibility, interpreting new moments as “cosmetic changes”.
