- Abstract
- The article deals with the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in Africa, the program adopted by the UN in 2000. It focuses on the main target of MDG 1 - eradication of extreme poverty, that is to cut down twice as much the share of population with income less than 41 руб. per person a day in the period between 1990 and 2015. The author underlines that Sub-Saharan Africa seriously lags behind other developing regions of the continent in achieving these goals.
