Abstract
The article describes the evolution of the largest international association - the Commonwealth. This intergovernmental organization composed of the UK and of almost all of its former dominions, colonies and protectorates:54 countries with a population of about 2 billion people. Theauthor draws attention to the efforts of the Commonwealth to adapt to new conditions of the XXI c. and to reform the organization.
